IMPORTANT!

All service performed must be done by an industrial licenced electriciant.

Make sure you completely disconnect all load wires, you should have only your single phase line, and your idler motor connected.

Let's Get Started!

First, let's check voltages, put your volt meter on the main power coming into your building, at the circuit breaker panel. Turn on the phase converter, what is the voltage while the phase converter is trying to start?

NOTE: Only keep the converter on the few seconds, just long enough to check the voltage.

Next, Check the voltage at the phase converter panel on your single phase line.

What size breaker do you have installed feeding the phase converter?

What wire size you using on your single phase supply to the phase converter panel from the circuit breaker?

How many feet of wire is your single phase wire feeding the phase converter panel?

Now check the start capacitors

There is a film covering a hole, is the film punctured or is the capacitor blown apart?

Check the two pole contactor the contactor should pull in once you start the phase converter, is the contactor pulling in?

Do you have a Digital Controller in the phase converter panel?

Check the motor lead inside the connect box of the idler mortor.

What leads you have tied together?
